Vanessa and Angela?Simmons, Fonzworth?Bentley, Pusha?T, T.I, Meek Mill, Beenie?Man, Naughty by Nature,? ?2 Chainz, Cool Kids, Fred Hammond, Elle Varner, and Drake are among the list of the people who made an?appearance?at Howard University?s 88th Homecoming celebration.Every year college students, Howard Alumni, and major?celebrities?travel across the country to attend Howard?University?s?Homecoming celebration.

Howard?s homecoming has been mentioned in songs such as ?Kick in the Door? by Notorious B.IG , ?Pimpin All over the World? by Ludacris and ?Pretty? Girls Remix? by Wale.

I will be honest; my freshman year experience at Howard Homecoming was exciting merely due to the fact that it was the first. But this year was nothing short of perfection.

Though the traditional events such as the Comedy Show, Poetry Cipher, R&B show , and midnight madness were sacrificed to make the main event , International Yardfest, bigger than years past; there was no slighted feelings at all.

Homecoming kicked off October 17 with the newest edition to the lineup, Dream Day. A day full of career development, entertainment, film, and music industry panels, and a 4 hours career fair enticed Howard students to start off Homecoming on a positive note. Vanessa and Angela, Issa?Rae, and Entrepreneur Necole ?Bitchie?.

The following night, Howard students and alumni alike, donned their red carpet best to attend the Fashion Show featuring guest performer Elle Varner. The performance was nothing less than spectacular.

On Friday October 20th, was the only free event and the most anticipated, International Yardfest. ?The atmosphere is filled with food vendors, families, and music from artist such as Naughty by Nature, Beenie Man. The headliner this year drew a crowd like no other. With surprise guest appearances from none other than Drake and T.I , the crowd had no choice but to literally lose control.

2 Chainz performed hit songs such as ?Duffle Bag Boy?, ?Riot?, ?Crack?, ?Dope Peddler?, ?Birthday Song?, ?I Luv Dem Strippers?, and ?Beez in the Trap? to turn up the crowd.

During Meek Mills set, the skies opened out and shared a few showers, but by the time T.I surprised the crowd, there was a full blown monsoon.

Though I ended that night running an hiding?for cover in all the buildings on campus, it was undeniably the highlight of homecoming and one of the most memorable International Yardfest celebrations in years.

Though Yardfest was untouchable, the Step Show came quite close. Each Greek of the Divine Nine showed up and showed out. After a long deliberation, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated took home the prizes this year.

All the homecoming events ended with the one thing all the students needed after a weekend of nonstop chaos; the Gospel Show. Fred Hammond ministered to an auditorium full of students, ending Howard University?s 88th Homecoming on a high.

Every organisation has its well prepared personnel policies. Such polices deal with different aspects such as employee benefit, employee benefit, employee relations, employee discipline, policy of the company & so on. A document / booklet which contains the details of personnel policies of an organisation is called personnel policy manual.

Reputed companies publish personnel policy manuals for the convenience of their manager, supervisor & employee. The personnel policy manual is written primarily for the information & guidance of manager. The term downsizing is used to indicate reduction of excess manpower by suitable measures. For reduction of excess manpower suitable downsizing plan will be necessary. Where there is surplus work force, trimming of labour force will be necessary. The trimming or downsizing plan prepared for this purpose will indicate :

25.??? Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) :

The Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) is the latest mantra of many a corporate and Public sector units. The company may decide to declare a VRS based on their HR plan and suitability. For common salaries individual this becomes a major decision. The company as per their human resource policy declares VRS or the Voluntary Retirement Scheme.

VRS is a scheme whereby the employee is offered to voluntarily retire from his services before his retirement date. Subject to certain conditions the company offers VRS to its employees. It is the golden route to cut the excess flab. The most human technique to retrench the employees in the company today is voluntary retirement skill. It is the golden hand shake for the employees and the only option today for the companies is to downsize their head count. The scheme which is formally permitted by the department of public enterprises and which provides the lucrative way for the employees to terminate their services and accept VRS.

(AP) ? As the music of Stevie Wonder pulsated through Racine Memorial Hall, Michelle Obama bounded onto the stage.

"You know what this room feels like? It feels like four more years in here!" the first lady exclaimed as the crowd of 2,500 roared its approval. The audience, including some who had waited overnight to see her, thundered again after Mrs. Obama noted that Racine is just 80 miles north of her hometown.

Until the election, she said, "coming here to Racine is the closest thing I'm going to get to be at home in Chicago."

Her husband's campaign is dispatching her to critical battleground states, high-profile appearances and big-money fundraisers. Her stepped-up schedule, packed with mostly campaign events these days, is a sign of the tight race between President Barack Obama and Republican Mitt Romney and the Obama campaign's belief that the first lady is a valuable asset.

Mrs. Obama, whose favorability ratings are higher than her husband's, can make the case for his re-election in a way no one else can, said Anita McBride, who served as Laura Bush's chief of staff in the White House.

"The first lady is always good for a couple of important things," McBride said. "One is the human side of the president, seeing who they are personally through the lens of the spouse, which is always unique."

First ladies also can champion the idea that "my husband is fighting for you" in a way that even the president and vice president cannot, McBride said.

The first lady's 35-minute campaign speech mixes the personal and political, offering glimpses of life in the White House and some of the reasons she married the president, along with an impassioned defense of his policies and character.

Most of all, she beseeches crowds to get out and vote and urge their friends and family to do the same.

"This election will be closer than the last one. That's the only guarantee. And it could all come down to just a few battleground states like right here in Wisconsin," Mrs. Obama said.

McBride called Michelle Obama a skilled campaigner who is much more enthusiastic this time around than in 2008, when she initially appeared reluctant to speak out on behalf of her husband.

"She never loved the political game and she was honest about that" in 2008, McBride said. But this year, "she is comfortable on the stump. She brings a lot of energy and she is in it to win it."

While Obama won Wisconsin handily in 2008, the state could be decided by just a few thousand votes this year, the first lady said. It may sound like a lot, she said, but those votes are spread across the state and hundreds of cities and towns.

"So when you break down those numbers, it turns out that just a handful of votes in every ward could make all the difference in the world," Mrs. Obama said. "So that one neighbor you get to the polls, that one voter you register and persuade, that one volunteer that you recruit, understand that will be the one that puts us over the top."

The Wisconsin visit followed campaign appearances in North Carolina and Ohio and earlier visits to Colorado and Virginia ? all battleground states. She also taped an appearance on "Live! With Kelly and Michael" and flew to New York for two fundraisers that brought in hundreds of thousands of dollars.

She heads to Hollywood on Thursday to appear on Jimmy Kimmel's late-night TV show and raise money with actor Will Smith.

Jeremy Bird, national field director for the Obama campaign, said Michelle Obama is a valuable "grass-roots champion" in early voting states such as Wisconsin. She heads the campaign's "It Takes One" program, which urges supporters to do one thing to promote the campaign ? and to engage someone else to do likewise.

"Your vote matters in places like North Carolina and Ohio and Wisconsin," Bird said, adding that the first lady stresses the importance of volunteer efforts to push people to vote and generate enthusiasm for the campaign.

In Racine, Mrs. Obama repeatedly engaged the audience in a friendly, even intimate way. One of her favorite parts of the campaign is being able to praise her husband without him hearing, she told the crowd: "So don't tell him how much I really love him. I kind of keep that leverage. That's between you and me."

Outlining her husband's efforts to rebuild the economy, she said manufacturers have added 500,000 jobs. "Do you hear me?" she asked, one of 11 times she used the phrase.

Interviews with voters produced enthusiastic reviews. Nearly all used the same word: "inspiring."

"I'm ready to go to work," said retiree Melissa Warner, of Caledonia, Wis. A member of the Sierra Club, Warner said she will volunteer at phone banks for the environmental group and the Obama campaign.

Shanon Molina, 32, of Kenosha, Wis., also was ready to volunteer. She said her favorite part of the speech was when the first lady said, "Don't let anyone talk down your dreams."

"I put that on Facebook" even before the speech ended, Molina said.

Climate Scientist Sues for Defamation

Michael Mann, an influential climatologist who has spent years in the center of the debate over climate science, has sued two organizations that have accused him of academic fraud and of improperly manipulating data.

Mann, director of Pennsylvania State University's Earth System Science Center, on Monday sued the National Review and the Competitive Enterprise Institute, along with two of their authors, Rand Simberg and Mark Steyn.?

The lawsuit, Mann's lawyer said in a statement, was based upon their "false and defamatory statements" accusing him of academic fraud and comparing him to a convicted child molester, former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.

Neither Mann nor his lawyer, John B. Williams of the Washington, D.C.-based law firm Cozen O'Connor, were available for comment Tuesday afternoon. But on Facebook, where news of the lawsuit was initially posted Tuesday, Mann said the lawsuit was part of "a battle" to assist climate scientists in the fight against those who attack their work.

"There is a larger context for this latest development," he wrote, "namely the onslaught of dishonest and libelous attacks that climate scientists have endured for years by dishonest front groups seeking to discredit the case for concern over climate change."

But he faces a high bar: Mann has played a key role in climate science for decades, and the law generally requires a much higher burden of proof from public figures, said CEI general counsel Sam Kazman.

"I don't think he's got a shot at reaching it," Kazman said in an interview. "Our stuff may have been debatable, but it was solidly based and we had a perfect right to say what we did."

"We plan to defend the suit vigorously but we think it is a totally unfounded lawsuit."

In 1999 Mann published a timeline of global temperatures stretching back almost 1,000 years. The graph showed a fairly stable trend until 1900, when temperatures spiked sharply upward. That so-called "hockey stick" diagram became a lightning rod in the debate on whether humans were influencing the climate.

In 2007 he shared the Nobel Peace Prize with former Vice President Al Gore and ?authors of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report for work connecting human activities to global warming.

$500,000 and two years
Two years later a cache of emails illegally obtained from University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom purported to show climate scientists manipulating data. Many of the emails were to or from Michael Mann.

Upwards of seven organizations, from the National Science Foundation to Penn State, conducted investigations into Mann's work. All declared baseless allegations of academic fraud.

Yet the attacks persisted: Virginia Attorney General spent $500,000 and two years unsuccessfully suing to obtain email correspondence from the University of Virginia, where Mann worked from 1999 to 2005.

When complete, the new port complex will serve as a gateway for containers destined for the Greater Durban Area and the Gauteng Industrial Complex as well as accommodate the region?s liquid bulk and motor vehicle handling.

As part of the contract, AECOM will provide concept and pre-feasibility design services for the new port and container terminals, including all associated infrastructure relating to its operation. As Sprint continues to play an epic game of LTE catch up, the Now Network has officially flipped the 'on' switch for its 4G customers in the Chicago suburbs of: Addison, Bolingbrook, Des Plaines, Downers Grove, Kankakee, Rockford, Joliet, Naperville, Palatine and Plainfield. Further expanding its not-so-mainstream LTE footprint are Gary, Indiana; Wichita Falls, Texas; New Bedford and Fall River, Massachusetts; and Hutchinson and McPherson, Kansas, too. While these aren't exactly the big markets that many were hoping for, it's good to see that America's third largest carrier is expanding its next-gen coverage for the less populous parts of the country. As for you big city folks patiently waiting for Hesse and company to call your number, rest assured that you haven't been forgotten. We're just hoping that Softbank's latest investment doesn't encounter any additional delays during its LTE rollout, because delays are for the birds.
