Google Nexus 7 16 GB Sold Out in Play Store

It looks like even Google underestimated the appeal of the Nexus 7 made by ASUS! The 16 GB version of the 7 inch tablet is now sold out in the Google Play Store. The 8 GB is still available if you don?t mind cutting your RAM in half, but with any luck it won?t take Google long to replenish their stores with the 16 GB version.

According to TechCrunch, sources confirm that Google had significantly underestimated the demand for the $249 model. It is quite surprising that Google apparently did not expect such intense demand, after all, the Nexus 7 gets nothing but praise from all sides and top marks in tests when it is compared to its direct competitor ? the Amazon Kindle Fire. The Nexus is so far ahead of other 7 inch budget tablets, it?s the obvious choice for consumers.

It will be exciting to see how the market shifts as soon as Amazon releases the Kindle Fire 2 and possibly more models with larger displays. Apple?s rumored contribution, the iPad Mini would also shake things up when it arrives.
